A little better every day!

Whitt is feeling a lot better this week! He is especially happy that the weather is getting nicer so he can go outside. He loves to ride in his wagon and his "beep beep" (the jogging stroller). Thank you to everyone who has been praying for a speedy recovery. He has been scooting around the house on his bottom and he is so happy to be off of the couch! As I write this, he is taking a nap in his very own bed! That is one of the biggest issues. He has not been able to sleep in his own bed for a week and a half. He would roll over and hurt his leg, so he has been in the bed with Mommy and Daddy. Shew! I'm so happy that we are transitiong back to his own bed! Now, maybe I can get some real sleep!

Mama working on my bracelets...I hate those things!

We are home from Charlotte now after Whitt's surgery. This surgery was so much easier than the last one in July. The surgery itself only took about 2 hours. Whitt only has two bandages on his leg over the incisions. There is no splint like there was last time!

Whitt's 2nd F-D Rod surgery

We leave tomorrow (Tuesday 3-10-09) for Charlotte for Whitt's surgery on his Left leg. They will be breaking the left femur and inserting a rod into that bone to ultimately straighten the femur. The rod will provide support as the bone lengthens and grows. He had this same procedure in July on the right leg. for pics...check out http://babybyrd.kids.homepagenow.com/homepage.shtml?txnid=877de8f7479db561b6457355d96577f4

We should only have to stay overnight in the hospital. Levine Children's Hospital is a wonderful facility, and we are so fortunate to have found such a teriffic orthopedist!

I will be updating the blog with info as I have it. Thanks!
